Plot: This is the legend of obaid, a young man who must choose either to live an easy life in this world or to struggle for reward in the hereafter. The story takes place in the time of king Narsis, a tyrant who controls his people by encouraging them to worship idols and frightening them with the magic of Cinatas, his evil sorcerer. Cinatas chooses Obaid to be his apprentice. At first, the boy is tempted by dreams of the power and the influence he will wield as the king's next sorcerer. But, something happens to make him question his priorities. He begins talking to a pious monk, who opens his mind to the true meaning of life.

This monk tells Obaid that there is only one GOD, and that He created mankind to worship Him alone. Though these words appeal to Obaid’s heart and mind, he is still confused. The monk advises him to seek the truth on his own – and thus begins the boy’s quest. But how will Obaid know the truth? And, if he finds it, will be have the strength to follow it – even if it costs him his life?

This story is taken from an authentic narration of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that explains the reference to “The people of the ditch” in Surat Al-Burooj (Qur’an 85:4), it is about a boy who believes in Allah, and he is blessed with divine protection from the plotting of his wicked king.

Description: This animated movie is based on the novel "Hayy ibn Yaqdhan", which was written 850 years ago by the famous Andalusian Ibn Tufail.

Plot: The plot of Ibn Tufail's more famous Arabic novel was inspired by Avicennism, Kalam, and Sufism, and was also intended as a thought experiment.

Ibn Tufail's novel tells the story of an autodidactic feral child, raised by a gazelle and living alone on a desert island in the Indian Ocean. After his gazelle mother passes away when he is still a child, he dissects her body and performs an autopsy in order to find out what happened to her. The discovery that her death was due to a loss of innate heat sets him "on a road of scientific inquiry" and self-discovery.

Without contact with other human beings, Hayy discovers ultimate truth through a systematic process of reasoned inquiry. Hayy ultimately comes into contact with civilization and religion when he meets a castaway named Absal.

Once upon a time there were two children nursed by same woman. Azur, a blonde, blue-eyed son of a noblewoman and Asmar, the dark skinned and dark-eyed child of the nurse. As kids, they fought and loved each other as brothers do. As grown ups, they mercilessly become rivals in the quest years later, when Azur is being haunted by memories of the legendary Djinn-fairy, and takes it upon himself to journey all the way to Asmar's homeland to seek it out. Now reunited, he finds that she has since become a successful merchant, while Asmar is now a member of the royal guard. However, Asmar also longs to find the Djinn-fairy, and only one of the two youths can be successful in their quest.
